The Fellowship is for graduate students currently attending an accredited and designated institution of higher education in Buffalo, NY at the graduate or post-graduate level in the fields of sociology, psychology, medicine, social work, cultural competency, African American/Black studies, and public health. In addition, the Fellow:

  • Must be able to commit to up to 12 hours of work/week with the majority of hours after business hours and on weekends
  • Demonstrate a passion for partnering with community members to create solutions and who reside in the City of Buffalo are highly encouraged to apply
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within and build relationships between organizations that serve the Buffalo community and community members
  • Have strong research, analysis, and reporting skills
  • Past work experience in STI programming and/or public health community engagement
  • Have knowledge of STI prevention and available evidence-based interventions preferred, but not required
