CAI CHOICE Partnership Project

CAI and the Contraceptive CHOICE Project (CHOICE) have partnered with a select group of health care providers to build on their current commitment to increasing access to Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC). The project, which aimed to adapt recent research findings from the CHOICE Project and other similar studies, to "real-world" healthcare settings, worked with providers currently participating in the OAH/CDC funded Teen Pregnancy Prevention Project in their community.

The goal of this short-term project (January 2014 – September 2014) was to dramatically increase access to, and the utilization of LARC methods (IUDs and contraceptive implants) among females ages 15-24 using lessons learned from best available evidence and a systems approach to service delivery.

As part of this project, CAI provided training and capacity building services to health care provider teams to increase the same-day provision of LARC methods to eligible clients and to ensure LARC methods are available every day of clinical operations.
