CAI Atlanta Offices (CAI Atlanta) was funded by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of Population Affairs (OPA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to serve as the Sexually Transmitted Disease- Related Reproductive Health Training and Technical Assistance Center (STDRHPTTAC) for DHHS Region IV (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee).
The goal of the Region IV STDRHPTTAC was to improve the quality of sexual and reproductive health services provided to adolescents and young adults, and men who have sex with men (MSM). The Center provided specialized Technical Assistance and Training (TTA) designed to strengthen and improve the capacity of state, local, territorial, and tribal STD and Family Planning programs in three areas:
1) Collection and utilization of prevalence monitoring data to improve STD-related community outcomes
2) Implementation and enhancement of systems to bill and collect reimbursement for STD-related services to support program sustainability
3) Application of best practices in the delivery of high quality STD and STD-related reproductive health services
