This webinar will provide Family Planning Program staff with up-to-date terminology, research highlights and best practices for what health centers can do to create more welcoming, affirming and inclusive health care environments for transgender people. This webinar will include tools for programs to review their level of inclusion, snapshots of experiences of transgender New Yorkers and practical applications for centers to make their spaces welcoming for transgender people. This webinar is available for any Family Planning Program staff interested in creating welcoming health care centers for transgender people.

The facilitator for this webinar will be Maureen Kelly, who is the Vice President for Programming & Communications with Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes, where she has taught and trained locally, nationally, and internationally for more than 20 years. Maureen has an extensive collection of published work, as well as award-winning media projects covering topics such as accessing sexual health care, healthy sexuality, as well as transgender services. Maureen is a Certified Sexuality Educator and Counselor by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
