Contraceptive Counseling Cluster Trainings: April, May, June dates

The NYS COE is conducting five one-day cluster trainings for family planning agency staff on evidence-informed contraceptive counseling strategies, with a focused attention on updates within Title X’s Providing Quality Family Planning Services recommendations. The trainings will incorporate the core concepts of client-centered counseling skills, as well as strategies for promoting culturally competent care that is within the lens of the reproductive justice framework. The trainings will take place on April 5th and April 21st in New York City, May 24th in Albany, June 6th in Syracuse, and June 28th in Buffalo.

 

Transgender Services Webinar: April 26, 2017

This webinar will provide Family Planning Program staff with up-to-date terminology, research highlights and best practices for what health centers can do to create more welcoming, affirming and inclusive health care environments for transgender people. This webinar will include tools for programs to review their level of inclusion, snapshots of experiences of transgender New Yorkers and practical applications for centers to make their spaces welcoming for transgender people.

 

Billing and Coding Webinar: June 1, 2017

This webinar will cover the basics of billing and coding regulations and guidelines with regards to Tittle X requirements. It will help agencies to understand best practices that are aligned with programmatic requirements to ensure maximum revenue for services.

 

Health Education Leadership Institute:  Rensselaerville, NY, July 24-26th, 2017

This three-day interactive institute will welcome technical experts and presenters with vast experience in the field of family planning, sexual health and health education. Notably, we are excited to announce Elizabeth Schroeder as our featured guest facilitator for this event. This institute is aimed at enhancing the capacity of health education supervisors, managers and directors in planning evidence-based outreach and community engagement to target populations.

 

Clinic Systems Institute: Saratoga Springs, NY, October 24-26th, 2017

This three-day institute will focus on best practices to improve clinic systems, with an emphasis on maximizing appointment scheduling systems, decreasing client wait time, and increasing access for individuals living at or below the federal poverty level. Registration information coming soon.
